Odd problem with dragging audio in Sonar X3 Studio

I'm having a very weird problem where when I drag the audio, it moves visually but not during playback. So I drag the vocals a measure back, and when I hit play they are still where they were originally. Even if I delete the audio, it's still there on playback. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it?

Maybe you have audio in several lanes and are moving/deleting a muted one and hearing another one?

Melodyned vocal...? I seem to recall this was a problem with earlier incarnations of ARA that was fixed in 2015 sometime.
