Roland System-1 and plugouts help (SOLVED)
Hi,
I've just bought a Roland System-1 hardware synth and the SH101 plug out, but can't get the SH101 plug out to load into the system 1....
I can insert the SH101 into a song via insert -> soft synth -> VST3 -> SH101. It shows up and works. I activated it via Roland website also. So I think its installed ok. I used the 64 bit version, since I'm using 64 bit sonar X3.
The System-1 is plugged in via a USB cable and is showing up under Preferences-MIDI devices, with both SYSTEM-1 and SYSTEM-1 CTRL listed under inputs and outputs. I've got both enabled.
I can play on the System-1 keyboard and it records into sonar midi tracks. And playing the system -1 plays them back from Sonar without issue. So seems to me the MIDI USB interface is working ok.
But when I press the "plug out" button on the soft synth SH101 it gives the error "Either the PLUG-OUT SYNTHESIZER" is not connected, or is connected incorrectly. Check the connection."
I get the same error if I try selecting SYSTEM-1 via the SH101 - Setting button. That just stays as SYSTEM-1 (Unconnected).
So I'm not sure what to try or do? If anyone's got it working and can share their settings that would be great!!
One other question, when I have the SH101 soft synth track selected in Sonar and play the System-1 the SH101 soft synth also plays the same notes. But there's a big delay of almost a second between the hardware and soft synth. Is that normal for software synths, or a symptom of something else being wrong?
Any help much appreciated!!
Thanks,
Aulias
OK got it!Need to have :
Sonar - Preferences - MIDI dev - SYSTEM-1 set to enabled for input and output
Sonar Preferences - MIDI dev - SYSTEM-1 CTRL set to disabled for input and output
SH101 Soft synth - Setting set to SYSTEM-1 CTRL for input and output
Then press plug-out on SH101 soft synth and it sent it over fine.
Sweet :) I don't feel so bad about selling my real SH101 10 years ago now, hah...!
