What's with the weird weather coming up???

All I know is that today is absofartly PERFECT here in Beepsoland.
 
The past couple of weeks have been brain fryingly/ass rottingly hot and humid. No AC in my apt and without any suitable x-breeze. I've been trying to get things done with what I'm assuming was mild heat sickness.
 
However mid August is generally the time of year in this area of Canuckerstan where things cool off a bit (always just before my barfday). Sometimes it drastically spikes up (or down) through the fall but seriously mid August, without fail, has a nice stretch of PERFECT temps (for me anyway).

The last week or so in New York has been some of the worst weather I can remember. Apart from the last couple of days (which have been sticky to say the least) it's been as hot as an oven and so humid everyone looks like they're on heroin. It's been like that heat you feel when you step off a plane in a hot country and get a face full of the engine heat. I really don't mind dry heat and can sit in a 180F sauna for an hour quite comfortably, but this humidity just takes it out of you. And I knew it was going to be the pits this week because I had an employee scheduled to take a vacation who I had to cover for, and she has this knack of picking the most horrid week of the summer every single year without fail. So I've been outside for 8 hours a day, running up and down 6 flights of stairs in stuffy walkup buildings and standing on subway platforms which are 10 degrees hotter than outside and just generally feeling filthy dirty within about 10 minutes of stepping outside.
 
Today was a modest 87F and truly, it felt almost like the fall (until about 2pm then it got hot again). 
 
Recently I've been getting around on bicycles a lot due to paying for a membership of NYC's bike sharing malarky, and that's an interesting experience when the heat index is 115F let me tell you. The breeze when you cycle lulls you into thinking that you're cooler than you really are, so you pedal away like crazy, all the time stoking this horrendous furnace of heat which flares up as soon as you come to a halt. Oh man when I feel that first hint of cool air sometime around October I am going to be in heaven. 

Anybody paying attention to what's happening to the poor peeps of central and southern Louisiana? Baton Rouge is under water. Many communities that do not flood are under water. A year's worth of rain in less than 2 days. In the news? Not really. Why not? Oh yeah, the orange dude with the combover. I'm happy for those of you enjoying great weather. Time for some sympathy and aid for the poor bastidges who aren't so fortunate.

Wild stuff going on!  A relative in Michigan was dodging four tornadoes that came dangerously close to her house.  Then other relatives (clarified for the slower people) down in Southern California are worried about the fires.
