Couple questions going from Sonar 8.5 to Platinum
Hello all,
So, after many years of relying on my old trusty Sonar 8.5, I finally decided to make a massive hardware and software upgrade (new PC, plugins, and the DAW).
I've been so far trying to resist my urge to go back to 8.5 haha, managed to import my keyboard shortcuts, I'm more or less familiar with the windows on Platinum already, but there are a couple of things that I'm really lost at, even after already having looked online for days about it:
- How do you 'insert measures' onto a sequence? I do that a lot, and the menu on Platinum doesn't give that option, apparently.
Cutting measures
with something in them (and deleting the hole in all tracks simultaneously, while markers/automation/tempo changes, and everything to the right of the deleted measures slides automatically) doesn't seem to be an option either (that one is actually in the menu still, but now it doesn't work properly like before). When I attempt to do that, some tracks do cut and slide the clips left to the right of the cut, while others just erase whatever info was in them, but without sliding the rest of the track info. This appears to be random (even though I select te region I want to cut on all the tracks) and it's very annoying of course, as the tracks become misaligned, ruining the sequence
and
- Why are most (though not all) of the events/tracks 'greyed out' now on the navigator window, when I had color schemes for tracks and individual clips before? I hear them playing back, but having done no changes to a sequence, the colors in this version are mostly gone. Is there an option to click or something? *EDIT: The colors are still present on the clips/tracks; but as you can see in the pic below, they're greyed out on the navigator window.
Here's an image to illustrate both problems better (the red rectangles I drew are sections of the sequence/measures I want to cut/erase; I would record whatever on any track inside the rectangle zones to make the cut/erase measures options available, of course):
Thank you so much for any help you can give me :)
