bump...

Thread worn bump, soap box...

Just evolving or devolving if that's what it is, coming to terms with the blasphemous thought that less is more. Not a popular concept and plenty of scope for backlash. For years went on with the idea that I had to have everything new because a client might want something in an obscure niche. Was a mask for my hoarding.

Fired up the old XP box and DAW is solid. More effects than I can ever deal with in what's left in this life. Troubling thing about this from my subjectivity is that don't need no new plugs. Don't need no upgrades. Everything covered. Everything works.

Sunk into the pit with the Wusik Station ver 8 upgrade however. Had this thing since ver 4 and then a freebie with ver 8. Downloaded 13.81 GB files. Got them hoarded onto multiple external drives and will probably install them some day. Appreciate the dev for offering this for free.

Nothing new from out here. Just love, best wishes, hope for a peaceful and bright future to all you guys, and girlsl.

How about editing your title  so it is more descriptive. Bump means nothing.

And content likely means nothing in the overall...
Didn't know you can edit a title...

    Thanks Fleer,

Was reflecting on a great original song by a 14 year old kid. One girl orchestra thing done with Studio One Artist that came with her Presonus Audio Box. Told her she should upgrade to the full version so she could take advantage of third party vst's. She asked why I thought it was needed when everything she wanted was already there in the Artist.

Then thought on how it took me half a century to figure that out.

Report back from the trenches on the Wusik 8 install. Can of worms here.

Fully and totally respect a dev that offers something as freeware. Just not working too good on my system. May be a dream for others.

Think I did up to ver 6 and functioned well for that ancient time and space. Ver 8 not playing nice and what does work sounds outdated.

Buggy as hell and carries the ADSR envelope forward to the next preset, first one chosen. Have to reinitialize which only gets the init ADSR. Was having a hard time getting rid of the arp on subsequent presets. Meaning a preset does not cleanly load the preset. Carries on residual data from whatever you first opened.

Looking at real estate space and the 17 GB expanded load. Listening to the quality of the waves and if the burden adds anything to die for. Will likely uninstall. There are probably a few good presets here and there that I'll miss out on. Others may have a better experience.

Morning John K. Just read your posts.

Today was the first day I bought something in a good while. A new plug and an expansion pack for Ultra Analog. I really like that synth.

Anyway, I have to agree with the less is more. Little girl put that into perspective nicely!

    JK,
I think it's either in the water or in the air. What ever it is, it must be going around.
I have not had any interest in new plugs or VSTis for the last couple of months.

Just go on being smug and coy, John. They will get to you eventually.

I am nearly out of rehab myself, following three months of forced abstinence. Having weathered every phase of withdrawal to eventual acceptance and inner peace, I am now ready to face the music again. Should I ever waver, should FabFilter ever offer Pro-DS for thirty bucks, can I reach out to you for support and encouragement?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Yes Bit, friends,

You can reach out over cyberspace for support.
My true purpose on this planet is unfolding...
To establish a plugaholic support network, based on entirely original concepts never available to humanity up til now.

Spiritual core first and foremost. Haven't decided on Lord Shiva or Buddha yet.

Begins with the public admission that "I am a plugaholic"

Then the concept of avoiding buying one plugin, one day at a time.

Has to include a collective group of contacts, reformed plugaholics. Someone you can call at 4 in the morning when the KRV news is hot off the press, or when Larry finds a new deal.

There is light on the horizon. We each have the inner strength, the innate capacity to rise above the obscurity. One by one, we will quit wallowing in the dead end of the latest plugin and get back to actually creating music.

"You may say that I'm a dreamer...but I'm not the only one"

Kinda makes you get all choked up and tears in your eyes, don't it.

Peace and only good stuff to all of you...
