My first theme - Polar Blue

Hi All,
I've been enjoying the themes that others have been creating, but figured I'd try something different and create a light theme as opposed to the darker Tungsten based variations that I actually prefer.

My working name has been "White Theme 1" but since it's not really white I thought a rename was in order.  So with that said, this is my "Polar Blue" theme: https://www.dropbox.com/s...0%28SteveC%29.zip?dl=0

For some reason it's a lot bigger than the themes I've downloaded so I've zipped it for convenience.  If you have any suggestions for minor changes here and there just let me know!

Oh... and I forgot to bring the screen capture image with me to share here as a preview, so I'll have to do that later tonight.

I downloaded it and like it a lot, very classy/tasteful. I might copy over my white or semi-monochromatic control bar when winter hits to make it even more polar

As to the size, you're probably modifying more elements than average, so the new graphics files have to be included in the theme.

    Thanks, Steve. It looks cool.

“Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy” is attributed to Benjamin Franklin perhaps in error, but the thought remains a worthy sentiment nonetheless.

Thanks, gents!  I'm glad to see it's working OK for you.

Craig: OK, that makes sense since I did replace some of the graphics and also modified the @#$% out of quite a few others.

And thanks for posting the pic, Bob.

Like it a lot! The only thing that's hard for me to see is the meters in the Performance Monitor section of the control bar. How can I cange the color?

Thanks, Outland.  That's one down and twenty to go to reach your output.

Unfortunately, pinguinotuerto, those meters can't be modified, or at least not using the Theme Editor.  So yeah, they are fairly light against the grey background, a trade-off for now.

For reference, here's a combo image I put together showing some of the dialogs and tools.  It aint perfect but in some sadistic way it was fun to do.

It needs to go in this folder: C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR Themes

...not the SONAR Platinum Themes folder.

Also...this theme points out the value of the Theme Editor for casual use. I really like the theme, but would prefer if the center of the tools was white, and the EQ backgrounds not quite so light. The Theme Editor can make those changes in a couple minutes.

Absolutely, Craig.   I did spend quite some time putting this together but part of that was figuring what I could and could not do with it, and how.  Some of what I learned towards the end of this theme I know I can use next time around, and it will just be that much faster.   And while there are a few missing pieces, most things are a matter of spending a few minutes tweaking some specific detail of your choosing.

I think the Theme Editor is an absolutely great addition to the CW toolbox... and this is just the beginning!

I'm curious whether you have an artistic background, or just a natural affinity for design.

I took some art classes back in high school and really enjoyed drawing - 70's album art was one of my favorites - but that's about it.  I do like the UI/design aspect though, something I could never do as a non-coder.  So the Theme Editor actually gives me the opportunity to do a little of that!

This as close to what I want Sonar to look like as I've seen since, what?, X1?

Really nice. I still wish that dark, dark brown clip background could be changed in the colors. But overall this is so, so close to what I want my workspace to look like.

Thanks so much for your work on this and making it available.

You're welcome!   I'm glad I could help out another old-timer.       The dark brown background color doesn't ring any bells though, I'll have to take a look at that.
