Im' thinking about buying Sonar Artist

Hi all, I'm thinking about buying Sonar Artist to start out for $99 and I'm confused by the membership options.
If I buy Sonar Artist I get updates for one year then it looks like I have to pay $49 a year to keep going with the membership?

If you want to receive another year of additional update, you need to pay for them. However the software you have will continue to work whether you renew or not. This isn't Adobe

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Yes, 99 to buy which includes updates for a year. Then 49/year if you wish to continue receiving updates. The original product with the updates you have paid for will continue to work even if you elect not to renew your membership.
