Frozen Plain Slow
SlowContemporary Ambient Sounds and AtmospheresSlow is a library of ambient pads and soundscapes. It features a finely picked selection of sounds that can be blended and morphed with 2 layers. As well as this, Slow has a powerful interface allowing for plenty of customisation. Each sound layer has their own custom LFO's that can modulate multiple parameters allowing for sounds with movement and swell to be created. Each layer has 4 effect slots, these have the categories Sculpt, Blur and Modify, with each category having a selection of effects available such as; reverb, convolution, tone, filters and distortion. Slow is ideal for cinematic atmospheres or ambient music. Slow Product Page - Instant Download only $59

I find this very interesting. However, the demos make it difficult to discern what is it that the plugin is doing vs what has been added.

I listened to the demo and couldn't discern if there was anything interesting going on. My attention moved on,
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Still, thanks for the heads up. Interesting description. Manual available. Maybe at half off. Maybe.

So I bought Phoenix form FrozenPlan at www.kontakthub.com. I think I will pick up Slow as well - I want to do an ambient tune next...

I don't have slow, but I'm quite satisfied with all of the other Frozen Plain libraries (and I own all of the rest). Frozen Strings is especially good. EDIT: The product is called Arctic Strings. My bad.

Slow looks interesting but I have so many ambient libraries now, they really have to move me to convince me to buy when I first hear them. Especially as some sound designers are really pushing ambiance in Omnisphere now. That's a hard one to keep up with for Kontakt vendors.

I just got done mapping controls for Phoenix to be usuable in Komplete Kontrol. Fantastic sounds in this thing, and that's making me think of getting Slow. What are your favorite ambient libraries - I'd like to research them before I pull the trigger...

I emailed the dev a few questions and he was kind enough to respond, so I bought Slow. Now to map the controls and have some fun! :)

What are your favorite ambient libraries - I'd like to research them before I pull the trigger... The biggest for me is Omnisphere using third party libraries like The Unfinished, Audiority or Rocky Mountain Sounds. Absynth again with third party libraries. Granulate has also become a favourite for soundscaping. For Kontakt, Orbit and Eclipse are fantastic, DJSH Nova and Texture, Dronar... there are some others as well but what I listed is my main sources of ambient stuff. Also worth mentioning is anything Eduardo Tarilonte makes. He has some incredible soundscapes in pretty much all his libraries. I really hope that he makes a library of pure soundscapes eventually because they are top notch and some of my favourites.

Thanks James... Perhaps I have found my niche after many years of penning crap... Honestly, I've got two hours worth of stuff from 2000 to 2005 and I was going to upload some of it to SoundCloud and I just never bothered. Sounds aweful haha! I've never collaborated with anyone for a long time so I'm not sure about it myself. If you have any ideas that you don't mind letting go of then let's take this to PM level and we can discuss further. No rush, and if you honestly don't want to try then that's cool... I think you should have a go yourself first, post something to SoundCloud and let's have a listen. Might spark something. You could even set a track to private if you're not sure about letting something lose into the world yet. AND... If you get a chance, have a look around the ambientonline.org website. You'll find plenty of ideas over there... cheers andy Okay, you can have the Software post back now
