[solved] Paid for lifetime -- STILL being charged monthly
Has anyone else paid for lifetime updates and then found you're STILL being charged monthly for a subscription? I paid for Lifetime July 14, and was then charged the monthly fee on the 30th of July and August. As we all know, Cakewalk is not responding to any customer service/support requests since June, so this is feeling pretty shady. I know it's just a glitch but come on Cakewalk... its time to get your stuff together!!

If you paid the full 12 months and then switched to lifetime I would think Cleverbridge owes you a refund. If you only paid 8 months and then switched to lifetime I would think you have to continue with the monthly payments until the full year has been paid for. There have been many posts about you exact problem and refunds have been provided to those that were overcharged. Still a big pain in the butt and evidence that the billing system needs more attention than it's been getting. The financial underpinnings have to be solid. (read disclaimer in sig)

Hi. You will need to contact Cleverbridge to cancel your monthly subscription. Use your first mail from them, and use the "order number" to cancel. Then ask Cakewalk for a refund. I believe I have seen that mentioned here earlier. All the best.

Paying for the Lifetime upgrade does not end your Cleverbridge subscription (you'd think that it would). You still have to tell Cleverbridge to stop deducting payments from you, monthly.

Yes, it is the fashion to blame Cakewalk. So far, I have yet to encounter a user with this problem who has read and understood their bill where it says contact Cleverbridge for billing inquiries, the FAQs on this forum or the SONAR area of the main website where Cakewalk states users are responsible for stopping monthly payment or a previous thread about this subject posted by another user where the same advice solved the problem.

Hi, it is the customers responsibility to cancel monthly membership when you switch to an annual or lifetime membership. We don't have an automated way to do this since the order processing system at cleverbridge is not aware of this. This information has always been in our FAQ since we started the membership program so its not something new. I checked your account and clicked the cancel option for you but you should verify that its off. I am paying monthly but would like to change to annual. What are my options? If you have completed 12 months of consecutive payments you now own your product outright. You are now eligible to purchase an annual Rolling Updates Membership for the version you own at the best price available, and your membership end date will extend by one year. The one year extension will be based on the membership end date that appears on your Membership page, so be sure you cancel your monthly membership, which can easily be done from your Membership page as well.

scook Contact Cleverbridge support to stop billing https://support.cleverbridge.com/hc/en-us
There is no need - you can stop monthly payments at any time. There is a link in every monthly payment message that allows you to cancel and its also in your account.

I wrote Cleverbridge and explained the situation and almost immediately saw a refund in PayPal. Open the theme editor and color me impressed. Thank you Cleverbridge!
