M-Audio Code 61 Keyboard: Is it worth it?

I now want a midi controller/keyboard with aftertouch.
This Code 61 has all the features I want.
I have read that it does not have good velocity response for piano players.
So a video online about that I could her the issue.
Maybe new drivers are now out?

Can anyone recommend this or not?

Thanks.
Jim

When I tried it at the local store I was amazed how well the keybed felt. Ordered mine from online store and figured the keybed has a different response. Other than that, this midi keyboard is awesome. So I suggest, you pick your keyboard at your local music store.

Thanks much Soundwise. That helps. Would like to know if you think playing it with a piano sound has enough dynamics for you.

I've picked a dynamic curve that works for my playing. You can easily switch between various curves for different instruments or even create different presets for the instruments you use the most. Anyway, this keyboard feels a lot better than anything else I tried.

Thanks again Soundwise. I did hear from M-Audio that they fixed that issue. It looks like a very nice controller.
I went with the Akai MPK261 instead today. After much reviewing, it is a better fit for my style of playing.

Great choice, Rimshot! BTW, these brands belong to the same company, InMusic. So I believe, the products are in the same league quality-wise, each having its own design and set of features.

Thanks again Soundwise. I did not know about the brands - that's very interesting!
    All the best.
