SORT BY FOLDERS (in Plugin Browser)
The new system of classification of plugins in the browser is excellent but the old method should also have been retained. Please add the old method too, ie..... SORT BY FOLDERS. It has its own uses (for people like me)

The way plugins are stored in my VST folder is .... I have folders named "EQ", "COMP", "DIST" etc... and relevant vsts inside these folders. Thus every thing was organized for me.....untill this new system which removed the "SORT by FOLDER" option completely and jumbled up my well organized plugins.

Do not select a Sort option. The layout should be by type by OS folder similar to 2016.07.

A very valid and sensible work-a-day question - probably less than a score (no pun) but like everything else in life better to have and not need than need and not have (at least "have on tap," as it were). Pragmatically, the SAME question could be asked about the many, many thousands of instruments and sounds one may have within their combined hardware synths and VSTi's. Not to mention their PRIMARY physical instrument (in my case 50 plus guitars - I use maybe half a dozen 99% of the time). I have workstations and keyboard synths from Yamaha, Korg, Roland, Alesis, and Nord and a large rack full of synth modules (mainly same mfg's). And the usual suspect list of plug-ins: NI Komplete, Spectrasonics Omisynth, UVI Falcon, EW libs, XLN, uHe, Kirk Hunter, IK, and many dozens of "one off's" not to mention all CW products accumulated over the years Rapture Pro, Dim Pro, Z3TA,.. Acoustic pianos alone I have hundreds of which I use maybe five (a mixable jazz, a mixable rock, and three solo's one for classical, jazz, and rock respectively).

If you don't check anything, you can select it. All the custom layouts I had prior to 2016.08 are still there.

I have Sonar Artist and do not see an option not to select a Sort by. I would also like to get back to how I had the plugins organized in folders on the hard drive. Below is a link to an image of what I see when I click on Plug-in Layouts. https://app.box.com/s/b6y...w6hcp1suizlh553er1ig78

Once again Scook rides to the rescue! I am content now, many thanks! I was thinking I had wasted my money on lifetime updates if the first of them was going to disrupt my workflow T
