Comping tool suddenly not working properly

I'm on the latest August Sonar Platinum.  During a comping session of several takes, all of a sudden the comping tool stopped working like it should.  In comping mode, I tried changing the starting of a clip and instead of the time adjusting across all takes, it just deleted the area of the take I was working on.  I tried healing the entire track and starting over but it happened again on the same take, in the same region.  Something must have gotten corrupted.  It all started after I was adjusted a fade in time, in this region, using this month's new ctrl and hover crossfade feature. 
 
So far I've tried closing the project and reopening but that didn't help.  I even power cycled my computer but still the same thing.  FYI, within this same project I've already comped another track and didn't have any problems at all so I don't think this is something that occurs quite often.  This other track hasn't been bounced yet so perhaps all the edits and clips are causing the issue.  When I get a chance, I'll try bouncing to clips on this other track to see if this helps. 
 
Has anyone else seen such weird behavior?  Other than this, I've been extremely impressed how much better comping is with the latest update.
