Delete Envelope Question (Automation)
In a project, I enabled and used Volume Automation on a track. I decided later I didn't want the automation any longer, deleted the envelope (or Clear All), should the automation of that envelope have stopped? Should I be able to return to making adjustments of the fader without it still reading that deleted Volume envelope? The fader still reads the deleted envelope. It's like I'm forced to either disable 'Read' or automate any new fader adjustments I need to make. Suggestions? Thanks!

I guess not. I still can't find where to do that. It's certainly hidden from my eyes. Main menu Edit?

What I managed to do was manually drag-select the entire envelope and press Del. That seemed to do it.

I normally right-click on the envelope, which evokes a drop-down menu, and select "Delete Envelope". This seems like the easiest method.

Yes, but you have to make sure the track itself is selected first, then it's Edit > Delete Special > Track/Bus Automation This will of course delete ALL of the automation on the track, which might not be what you want. You can also toggle Automation Lanes on/off then like Kev999 says, you can then right click on the envelope itself in the automation lane to delete it, or, in track view without the lanes open, you need to set the Track Edit Filter to Automation > (envelope you want to work with). All envelopes will show as "ghosted" with the Edit Filter set to Clips

"Clear All" removes all nodes of the envelope, so "Delete Envelope" is the way to go as mentioned before.
