Buckethead - HOLY CRAP!

I just read that Buckethead released 118(!) solo albums last year!  About one every three days on average.  (He "only" released 60 in 2015.)

Ignoring all of the obvious, how the heck can you produce that much that fast???

Waiting for the 20-disc Greatest Hits compilation.

How does he do it? Simple. He hits REC every time he picks up the guitar. Doesn't hurt that - gimmicks aside - he's actually quite good.

Agreed - and there is some variety in there. I don't like all of his stuff, but some of it I think is just fantastic.

Buckethead is sure one bad mofo on the guitar ..
The sad fact of the matter is his internet provider does not allow him to visit The Coffee House from his chicken coop ...
So he has a lot of time to kill by just playing his guitar all day long while the chickens cluck ...
If he ever made it here  to T C H ,
Buckethead would make you and bapu look like absolute newbs around here when it comes to the post count

Elton John came real close in the 70's. It seemed like every month he had a record out.

I've only had sporadic time for music, much of my home time has been spent watching tutorials.  I'm up to 1995, but will continue soon.  I had to try a few extras in there (like the new Santana since it's up on YouBoob now).

How does he do it? Simple. He hits REC every time he picks up the guitar.

Even so, just the rest of the work required for the actual release of an album is impressive!

Hi,

He played the International Progressive Music Festival in 1999 (San Francisco), and my take on his stuff was ... where is the originality in this? The Godzilla movies in the background? The bucket face? Ohhh wow ... and most folks in the audience left to go to the latrine and get a drink!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

Several and bass as well! Blue outfit and bucket in his head! Not too original for "progressive", but what the heck! Everyone needs a gimmick, no?

Well, apart from his stage antics, the man does have some unbelievable talent. It might not be everybody's cup of tea, but he definitely can play that guitar.

I would never question anyone's ability to play an instrument. It's the choice of material and work, that either stands up or not. For me, it didn't. I was one of the "official" photographers for the whole concert, and just did not care to place any of his pictures online. They simply were not interesting.

I must admit, this Buckethead fellow had passed me by, so I checked out a few of his tunes of YouTube. I don't feel like I've missed anything significant, it all seemed to be *moody arpeggio A section * overdriven snarly B section - repeat - then sort of-OK-but-a-bit-hamfisted-shreddy-solo. He's no Guthrie Govan, that's for sure.
