Now time not moving; project plays.

I'm using Sonar Platinum (latest). On a laptop with two SSD's. When I press play the NOW TIME cursor does not move. But the project plays. I'm not sure if this is behaviour from the latest build or if I am doing something wrong. I am on an i7 laptop (DELL 17R with I7, 6GB ram two SSD's (project is playing back from second disk) and I am on Windows 10. Latest updates.

I can't find in the (online) help a way to change this behaviour. I have the X3 project wich I downloaded from Cakewalk. And this is allso having this behavior.

The laptop has a GMA4000 intel graphics card. I have downloaded and installed the latest driver.

I have a LED lit keyboard, and the scroll lock turns on the LED backlight. It also starts and stops the timeline scrolling.
If I have the keys lit and able to see them ,the scrolling stops. I am not able to change this macro, for the scroll lock key is greyed out. I guess it is time for a different keyboard, even though, the backlit keys are very helpful to me.
If there is another way to change this macro, I would be very thankful a solution. Thanks!

Usually those kinds of functions are gotten to by holding down a Function key or sometimes the Shift key, in conjunction with pressing whatever key has the additional functionality you are trying to access.

That IS a bummer if you have to choose between seeing what you are doing on the keyboard, versus seeing where you are in the song you are working on.

I went to start and looked for: OSK (just type in search). This opens the full screen keyboard. Scroll lock is in the middle of the NUM part. This did not change the behaviour of the NOW ruler. The icon does change from block to triangle indicating play mode is engaged.

The line does not move however.

Allso the TIME does not indicate where I am. The numbers stay as if the song does not playback.

Not at Sonar so I cannot verify but this is a standard behavior when your editing a track. Sorry I can't give details but scolling will stop when you do certain actions in track veiw and resumes when you exit that action. It's something I do automaticly and I think I just double click the track or a blank space or??

Hmmm.... could this be because of my M-box driver? Now tested without the m-box2 and the behavior is gone...

Yes confirmed. It's a bug in my M-box2 asio driver wich does not like the latest Sonar version.

I have installed the Mbox2 beta driver for WIN7 (8.04b). And everything works fine now. Happy. ! Windows 1064bit & the digidesign 804B driver like each other and they like the new Sonar Platinum. Great!

I had the same using an mbox Behaviour can also be stopped by switching from asio to mme. I only use the Mbox with a laptop very rarely. In the studio I use Tascam.

Yes I did notice that. But the ASIO driver is quite stabil. So as a last resort I thought I'd go one driver back. And low and behold... It worked. I am very pleased with this. As I now allso have not suffered from any blue screen. Wich did appear every week or so.... 8.04 seemed to solve all those issues.
