Advantages to updating Sonar X2 – Platinum
From looking at the posts on the cakewalk Forum I’m noticing that some are still running X2, X3 and 8.5. I’m currently running Platinum 22.7.0.41. I’ve had a lot of trouble upgrading to version 22.8.0.29. I finally got it installed on a spare hard drive running windows 10 installing sonar as a new install. After getting all my other software installed and finally running the latest Sonar version. Sonar has a delay when starting and stopping a song. It could be due to the driver’s issues. I have to use windows 7 drivers for my sound card; my sound card is no longer made or supported. So I’m back running windows 7 and Sonar Platinum 22.7.0.41. So to upgrade to sonar platinum 22.8.0.29 I can wipe my spare hard drive and load windows 7, and load sonar platinum 22.8.0.29 and it should load like it did under windows 10. But this is very time consuming. Recording wise for the ones who have upgraded to platinum version 22.8.0.29 what do you see? Is it worth upgrading? Actually X3 with the lasted patch was doing what I needed. But I had to have the lasted. For the ones who are still running 8.5, X2 and X3 what made you stay at that version?
