[Resolved] Cakewalk storing my credit card number on file

I'm a little uncomfortable with Cakewalk storing my credit card number on file. I would sooner just enter the number every time I make a purchase. Can it be removed? I looked in my account and found no way to have it deleted. Do I have to contact support and have them delete the number and will they do it?

edit: I realized after I posted this that it is probably Cleverbridge that is storing my CC number but I would like to know if anybody else has gone through this and had their CC number successfully deleted. Thanks for any info.

Cakewalk has no access to CC information. It is likely a cookie on your computer. However I'm sure if you contact Cleverbridge they will be able to assist with this query...

What do you mean by "mp access" ?

The customer should be given the option as to whether or not their CC information is stored. I don't see that option anywhere. It shouldn't be up to me to rectify a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.

I'm still curious as to what you meant by "mp access". I see you edited that out of your post.

Seems like a typo - the "mp" and "no" keys are parallel to each other.

"mp" == obfuscated version of "no" as steve pointed out :)
Thats what happens when you try and type in the dark.

So how does the credit card get removed?

If a consumer asks for their credit card to not be stored then it should be removed - so how is this done?

I've gone through this before with Cakewalk and Cleverbridge and the two blame each other.

Cleverbridge will only let you change the CC number if you are currently paying for a product you purchased from Cakewalk on a monthly basis through Cleverbridge.

Cakewalk says they do not store the credit card information on their site, but it's located there when you log in and try to make a purchase.  Confusing isn't it?

I made several calls to both Cleverbridge and Cakewalk and sent many emails as well and still they blamed each other.

I was unable to remove the CC listed, but really all I wanted to change the CC Card because it  had expired.    I purchased the cheapest Item I could find and replaced the CC Card.

Simset3, how were you able to remove the CC from your account?

    Peace,
