Sample Tank for IPad - I am redundant! :(

New ST 2.01 for IPad only supports the latest 64 bit hardware so now my lowly IPad mini is slowly becoming redundant despite the fact it is on the latest version of the OS
Hey not a biggie apart from forever seeing the update icon have a permanent "1" next to it

Sonar Platinum - Windows 10 Pro 64bit - AMD FX 8150 processor - 16Gb RAM - 27" Monitor (it's not the size that counts, it's what you do with it)

Having used Sampletank for IOS on my iPads for a couple of years, I am disappointed in the new version, it is actually harder to use for what I use it for, which is to load several instruments, and switch rapidly between them while playing live. It's no longer as easy to do, in fact it's entirely unusable for this due to the redesign and some performance quirks that I cannot resolve. Boo hoo. Back to square 1, as my Korg Module app does not yet work as smoothly as the old Sampletank, nor does it layer like SampleTank for IOS does.

I start to think more and more apps like these just aren't practical mobile device apps.

'Same here.  You also get the update notice even though it wont update.  This is where the binders to Apple's greatness wears off.   If you look at Windows 10 they do their best to make legacy apps work.  I've have M-Audio stuff that when new was running on W2K.  They are still running in W10. The original Oxygen works on my systems. With Apple they will try to make your hardware obsolete so you can buy more stuff.  I thought it was cool to record guitar, play a synth or two in iPad but the "fun" dried out.  I find it's great for Kindle, Zinio, Groove 3, MPV, for those decent evenings on the patio. There is really no such thing as "portability" with an iPad. Most controllers and all sound devices need to draw power from a light socket.
