Messengers of Peace

As my focus was mostly on the main Sonar forum and occasionally on the Features & Ideas one, just happened to bump into this Songs forum from another post. This is a great forum I should say to know and listen to various creations and creators of music, in particular, work done in Sonar. So, I'll be looking to share some of my stuff too now and then.

Please do take a listen and let me know your thoughts...almost everything I've done to date is instrumental.

Here's one that I did about 3 years back...

    Like the intro,

is this all NI, or did you also use your keys?

Nice mood music, the guitar sound is nice, is that a real guitar?

I feel like this would be great for a video where you are floating down the Nile.

    You are an expressive soul.

My only nit, is that it seemed a little hot on some of the flute sections.

Floating down the Nile . . . in a felucca. Mind the crocs.

Very tasteful use of delays! I thought maybe the bass note could be more prominent in the mix but it's super breezy without it.

    cheers,

enjoyable.  I was surprised at the paucity of slides in the wind instrument and the guitar.  It was very *clean* and *westernized*.  Was this on purpose?

Thanks for your kind comments Jesse... does provide encouragement

I used patches from NI and other synths too. Beats are from Battery.
I am not a very fluent keyboard player and I don't play the guitar at all.
I use keys to play my MIDI parts which I record and sequence. The guitar isn't real, its from a synth.
Yes, I did realize that the flute sounds sharp at some points, and more so in some output speakers.
My focus is basically in composing music, sequencing and arranging.
Trying to work on and to get better at mixing, balancing and the audio engineering side

Thanks Tom. Good observation. I deliberately kept the bass down in this case. But then, I am still trying to get better at mixing anyways.

Thanks eph221. Not really on purpose all through. They were all sequenced, so I was sort of selective in programming the slides. A human guitarist could probably bring greater soul and feel to the composition. Some day I hope to get some good instrumentalists to play my compositions for me. Its a dream...
