Sonar as slave

Hey guys.  Is it possible to start Sonar from MIDI without a timing clock?  Can you use the internal or audio source and simply trigger the start, continue, and stop?  As well, does anyone have a code snippet?

Are you trying to use transport controls on a midi keyboard?  If so, you probably need to configure those controls in Sonar using ACT.  Search YouTube for a video on how to do it.

Also, make sure if you are recording you arm a track - can't tell you how many times I've hit the big red button without hitting the little red button and wondered why nothing happens.

This was a post on code,  not on use of Cakewalk.  Any chance anyone has a correct example of sending a MIDI SPP command in either C++ or VB?
