Can't Load August Update in SP With Out It Crashing

Anyone else have this problem? I've had to rollback to the July update as the August update instantly crashes my SP. (My Dell computer is otherwise fine, virus defended & fully loaded). I get a message that says: "SONARPLT.EXE has stopped working." It also indicates on a larger pop-up this message: "Module C: \Windows\System32\KernelBase.dll."  According to what I've read, if a message states "KernelBase.exe" it could indicate a virus or malware. However, if, like my message, a suffix is of the dll variety, it should not be a virus or malware causing the problem.
Anyone else encountering this problem? Likewise, anyone have a potential solution? I've tried a number of suggestions, all to no avail. I've also emailed Cakewalk Tech support twice in the last two weeks. No response yet, although I realize they're very busy and have promised to eventually get to all problems.
Thanks in advance--

You don't actually say what Operating System you're using. However, have you made sure all of your Windows patches are up to date.

I also wonder if it's worth uninstalling the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable" and reinstalling it.

The filename vc_redist.x86.exe is for 32bit Windows operating systems (7 and above)

The filename vc_redist.x64.exe is for 64bit Windows operating systems (7 and above)

Of course, make sure that Sonar has exited properly before updating this.  In fact what I would do is log off your machine and then log back on just to make sure.

Thanks for the feedback. My OS is Windows 10. I went to the page link you suggested re: the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable uninstall/install. The link didn't work from my end (even after powering off/on my computer). I guess I'll just have to be patient and hopefully Cakewalk can help me at some point.
    Thx--

have you tried running Sonar in safe mode?

Sonar Platinum - Windows 10 Pro 64bit - AMD FX 8150 processor - 16Gb RAM - 27" Monitor (it's not the size that counts, it's what you do with it)

There is an update patch to the Aug release and one of the things it does is to fix the crash on startup that some people are experiencing. I simply entered your error message into the forum search and it took me right to a post by Cakewalk staff 3 weeks ago. Go to command center and grab the update then report back so we know how it worked out.

Since you are relatively new, you should add some system specs to your user profile. It makes it way easier to suggest solutions.

Thanks for the tip-ff. I did previously try many of the things you suggested but I'll take another look. I sure as heck don't want my lifetime updates to be for naught.

This is just a speed bump. You should be back in the game soon.
