Fresh of the Sonar Machine (New Song)

Hello everybody,
I just finished mixing this tune and would like some feedback.  There's a lot a stuff in this one and all in all found it very difficult and took me awhile to write and record.  Anyway, thanks in advance for your comments.
Tom.

    Hi there!

I really like your song. Very soulful touch and nice chops. To give some constructive critique here are couple of thoughts to consider.

    1) I felt the drums could escalate quicker. Kinda felt like too much teasing since things start to happen on that department on the half way of the song.

    2) The sax could be "tighter". Maybe equalizing and more compression to fix that? Also on that part the stereo image is much more on the left. Feels bit unbalanced at least on headphones. Try pan automating guitars or some other stuff on the right to balance out? Or maybe hard right panned delay or reverb?

    3) I would add some spice to the last chorus. Hammond or something that fits this style. :)

    Very good job overall.

Nice vibe on the song. The kick (sometimes) sounds a bit distorted. I would not have put the distortion on the bass in the breakdown (that's a personal taste, not a technical crit).

    Good mix.

Thanks for the feedback..  I thought of doing something at the end to make it different but I just couldn't come up with anything that made sense to me so I left it alone.  I will take a listen the stereo image and see what can be done with that as well.  The bass?  Yes.. I did some last minute touch up on the bass that maybe I shouldn't have.
    Thanks...
    Tom.

Mix sounds thin. The drums are laid back but seem to have no beef. Same at times with the bass: are u using any compressor on the bass?

That left crash is super hot.

Organ at 3:27 seems lost behind the rest of the accompaniment.

Here's a new mix..  It seemed the low end was too pronounced and the highs to low so I used the LP MB compressor to analyze that and fix, I hope.  Also moved some tracks left to right to improve stereo image.  Compressed the saxes a bit to fit in better with the mix.  I thinks it's a much better mix.  Thanks!!

Also, tried a compressor on the bass but it really had no effect being a midi file.

If you're up to sending the CWB file, I could fix this mix in about 30 minutes. PM if interested.
