Addictive Drummer 2 VST sounds fine OK standalone, but pops etxc. in Sonar.

I had Sonar X1 and bought Addictive Drummer 2 and set up in sonar as VST plugin.  Standalone AD sounded great, but in Sonar the toms and kick pop or crackle.  No pegging, tried adjusting the latency buffers, synching and caching, disabling wifi, change bitBridge to 1 from 0, and trying many different suggestions I found online, but still couldn't get rid of the crackling on notes played.
So I upgraded to Sonar Professional, which included Addictive Drummer 2, but when creating the VST track for it, I got the same problem.
Standalone OK, in Sonar crackling.
I am at a disappointing standstill, so I'm open to any other suggestions.
Thanks.

If AD2 is running in bitbridge, that is a problem. AD2 has a native 64bit version which should be used in 64bit hosts. Other than that, more details about the hardware (including audio interface) and software may help with a solution.

The AD plugin when I want to insert says 32 bit.

Audio interface is Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.
Sonar Prosessional v. 22.8.0  x64

The AD plugin when I want to insert says 32 bit.

It is possible to see/set the 64bit VST install path by clicking the Advanced button in the XLN Installer. Either add this path to the SONAR scan path in Preferences > File > VST Settings or change the location of the 64bit VST to the SONAR scan path.

Well, a new problem seems to have appeared.
No sound!  The meters are all going in the DAW, but absolutely no sound.
I've restarted the program, but no sound.  If I play a youtube there is sound.
I'm going to reboot the computer.

Well, re-booting fixed that problem.
