how to work headphones

i know how to record and play what ive recorded but i have a problem. i cannot hear my headphones when i speak on the mic, can anyone help

    Do you know how to plug in the headphones?

    ASUS P8P67, i7-2600K, CORSAIR 16GB, HIS 5450, 3 Samsung SSD 850, Win7 64, RME AIO.

    My guess is the OP is trying to use on board audio. 
    The lack of any info makes advising you hopeless. 
    If you need help give details of your set up or how are we going to figure out what your doing wrong.

    Ideally, you'll have a zero-latency monitoring solution built into your audio interface (consult your interface's documentation). But if you don't, e.g. you're using your computer's built-in sound card, then you have to enable Input Echo (consult the SONAR help file).


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
