Feature Request - "Auto-Detect Control Surfaces" Button in Sonar

Often when I load Sonar it doesn't recognize my MIDI controller and/or control surface. 
 
Sometimes if I unplug the controller--or turn it off and on--Sonar will display a message, asking if I want it to reconnect my controller.  When I click yes, my controller(s) reappears in the preferences.  can check the boxes and I'm good to go.  
 
But when that doesn't happen I have to exit the program and restart. Often I have to do this more than once. 
 
In the control surfaces preferences for Propellerhead's Reason, there is a button that says "Auto-detect surfaces."  Using this, you can get reconnected without unplugging or restarting.  This would be really useful.  
 
I should say that I never had this problem once in over a decade using Logic on my Mac.  Maybe this has something to do with the PC?   It's a constant problem for me with Sonar.
