Superior 2.0 & Sonar Platinum - Unusual Noise
I recently upgraded from Sonar X3 to Sonar Platinum and I'm getting an awful static like noise from Superior 2.0. It even happens when I'm messing around with the Superior Plug-In. Even clicking buttons or scrolling causes "clicky" static noise. The only time the noise goes away is when I freeze the track. That makes tracking edrums almost impossible. Any tips would be appreciated. I really hate to revert to X3 since Platinum has a lot of other nice features. Thanks in advance for you assistance.

I am using superior drummer 2 in platinum on Windows 7 without issues. Make sure you have the latest version. What OS/Interface are you running? Is Sonar the only update that you did or have you also installed Windows 10? I had a static burst problem with a few plugins when I tried an early version of win 10.

Check the plugin is registered - eg when I upgraded to Win10 I had to re-register some plugins
Some plugins run in "demo mode" and insert a static sound until they are registered
Might be worth double checking

Yes to both above. Also - Toontrack now has a software management tool - since I rarely updated in the past, I tracked them down on my last system reboot this past winter, and realized I had missed multiple updates
Be the first one who thinks that you can Sonar Platinum, Windows 7 64 bit - clean install January 2016, Focusrite Pro 40, Outboard Pres, Native Instruments Komplete, Izotope, PSP, Melodyne, Vegetarian

Thanks for the tips. I'm running Windows 7 and using a M-Audio Profire 2626. I typically keep my DAW off the internet but I decided to connect to up Sonar, All Toontrack Products and updated driver for the 2626. I probably should've update one at a time until I tested functionality. I re-registered all plugins and the problem still existed. I then uninstalled the video graphics driver and used the crappy default driver that is included with Windows. That probably resolved 95% of the noise issues. It's just disheartening because I never had a problem with that driver before and I didn't update it. I'll keep tinkering to I get this figured out.

Not that it's a solution....but I have Superior Drummer along with EZ, had them way before Sonar offered AD Drums with Sonar. Superior was a great drum program (and probably still is on the top tier along with a few others) but a bit cumbersome compared to AD Drums. Now I very rarely reach for Superior drummer. Overall though I do understand your disheartening feeling, you have a product and you want it to work especially when the product cost wasn't cheap. Nothing against Toontrack, I think they have good products and they are a good company, but I have always found their registration and update system to be a bit foggy, but I haven't checked the updates in quite a while so forgive me if I am speaking on something that has since been ironed out over at Toontrack. They do have great products.

The removal of the video driver wasn't as effective as I thought. Any other suggestions? I've noticed a few other plug-ins with the same issue. I know the superior 2.0 solo app works without any noise issues. Edit: I now know the problem doesn't exist in Sonar X3.

Seems like an issue i had before. Do you have TH3 activated in one of your tracks by any chance?
