Not hearing/seeing wav files

Hi. I am trying to use/edit some wav files. I am using sonar professional. I can preview (and prehear!) the files fine, but when I drag them/import them into an audio track they seem to disappear. The background of the track does change a little however, to some subtle grey dots against the black. But I can't hear anything.

Appreciate the help!

Go to Edit > Preferences > File - Audio Data.
Clear the Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp check box, then click OK.

Note that the dots are 'bread crumbs' that lead to the original import location further out in the time line. If you re-imported the clip after disabling 'Import Broadcast Waves...' option without undoing the original import or starting over, you'll want to hit Ctrl+End to find that clip, and delete it.

Thank you. I suspected that meant the data was in there somehow, so I never saved it. Thanks for the info!
