[SOLVED] How to use Sonar to get audio clip bpm?

I know that I've seen this on here before but I can't find it now and I just can't seem to remember how to use Sonar to figure out the bpm of an audio clip

Hi. Have you tried to drag the clip up to the timeline. Drop when it turns blue.
    All the best.

They may be groove clips (beveled clip edges). If they are groove clips, when selected their original tempo is listed in the clip tab "Groove Clips" section of the inspector and in the Loop Construction View. Groove clips cannot be processed by Melodyne so the drag to timeline option is not available. CTRL+L to make a regular clip from a groove clip although it is not necessary in this case.

SONAR relies on the Melodyne VST3 plug-in for this function just like it does for Melodyne Region FX processing.

I never installed Melodyne on my Surface Pro since I never planned to do anything big just have it to mess around with when I'm not at my main desktop.  I guess I'll get that installed then

Melodyne does so much more than people realize. I use it to tune bass parts, transpose audio, level vocals with respect to amplitude, and even do envelope-controlled flanging. Many of these applications are documented in the "Friday's Tip of the Week" thread.

After you install, you'll have the best results doing tempo detection if you select Percussion as the default algorithm.

The only real downside is Melodyne's color scheme doesn't fit too well your Aqua or Green Glow themes

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

lol, yeah there's still a few things that don't fit perfectly with them

Can the Melodyne included with SPlat only be instaled on one machine at a time? it's not letting me register it on my Surface Pro

Celemony allows 2 activations or a physical iLok. Activations are managed in your Celemony account.
