Track randomly greyed out

Sonar X3 Studio.
Randomly getting greyed out tracks that I can't highlight to edit.
Have I inadvertently hit a tool that I'm unaware of?
Thanks, bunch of music that needs to edited, bounced, exported.

If it's not that the Track's Edit Filter is set to something other than Clips, it might be due to a bug that has been reported a few times recently. One user was able to consistently replicate the problem by deleting all the notes from a clip in the PRV, and then writing new ones, but I don't think that's how it's happening to most users. And I'm not sure how you recover from it other than maybe by copying events notes to new clips/track. I haven't run into it myself.

If the edit filter is set to clips, click the arrow to select clips again. This has happened to me once or twice and that has fixed it for me.

K... I've got more to add.
I was able to edit the track after deleting all automation (R. click, n delete autom.)
The greying out of a track, or tracks occurs when using automation.
I tic the Automation Write On
Then listen through making my adjustments
When I stop, the track greys out.
    Any ideas
    Thanks

If I understand correctly it sounds like what you are describing is normal.

I was able to edit the track after deleting all automation (R. click, n delete autom.)

If you can right click and delete the automation then the tracks edit filter should indicate you are in some sort of automation mode.  When you delete that automation, the track edit filter will change to "clips", which allows you to edit the track.

    Right

When you are writing automation the track should then be in automation mode when you stop. Change the tracks edit filter to "clips" to edit the track. Hope this helps.
