Unable to access fade-in option in audio clip

Hoping someone can help...

I'm unable to access the volume fade-in feature on an audio clip. I can fade it out, but not fade it in. I've tried everything to try to trick the Smart Tool so that I'll have the fade-in option - but it won't appear. This happened on another project, and I can't remember the combo that allowed me to do it. It involved unmuting clips or something.

For whatever reason - it's like the smart tool won't let that be an option. It may have something to do with that I split the clip and moved it forward in time to line up with another in a different take lane.

I've got the most recent update.

Maybe I'm a Luddite and/or used to the ways I did things in older versions, but the enhanced Smart Tool seems to have slowed my workflow.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you're in the Take Lanes, try using the Edit tool instead of the Smart tool, or expanding the height/width of the clip.

Also some more context would be helpful, like whether you're doing this in a track or Take Lane, and where the fadeout starts.

Thanks for the reply. It is in a take lane. I did try expanding it and also the edit tool, but it won't give me the option. It happens in multiple corresponding clips in corresponding tracks. Any other ideas and/or ways I can manually access the fade-in option if the tool won't let you?

I think it has something to do with splitting a clip and moving one part forward in time.
