ReWire Help

I'm looking for help understanding what can be done with Rewire.  I recently upgraded to the newest version of Finale which has Rewire support and am having trouble understanding how to set it up.  Perhaps I don't correctly understand how it's supposed to work and what it's limitations are.  From my understanding I should be able to sync midi data between the two programs.  For instance in finale when I'm looking at notation and looking at looking at piano roll view in Sonar if I change one it should sync and change the other, correct?
