Update 2 for SONAR 2016.09 is now available!
We have released an additional update to SONAR 2016.09. In this update we fixed a truncated path that would cause some plug-ins to not be scanned. In addition, there were several users who experienced trouble being able to get the most recent update to SONAR 2016.09 due to their membership end date. Users who had a membership end date in September are now able to install the most recent update to SONAR 2016.09. New fixes in Update 2 of SONAR 2016.09 - Resolved an issue where 32bit plug-in could potentially not get scanned after a reset due to a string truncation that was affecting paths for database, fault reports, bit bridge, etc.
Previous fixes in Update 1 of SONAR 2016.09 - SONAR was failing to send crash dumps and could cause a possible hang
- Fault Reporter was not opened when a crash was experienced
- Improved handling of crashes to ensure project backup and audio hardware shutdown
- String truncation was affecting paths for database, fault reports, bit bridge, etc.
- Groove Clips did not follow Tempo Changes after saving and reopening a project
- Having "Stop at Project End" would continue playback past the last event in the project
- UAD plugs are no longer balanced when "Load Balancing" is turned ON
New Features: Plug-in load balancing (Platinum only)Now Platinum owners can run more plug-ins, with fewer dropouts, greater efficiency, and more even distribution of CPU loading to processing cores. Recommended for systems with four or more cores, this update can improve plug-in performance at buffer settings of 256 and above. CPU meter modesThis update to the Control Bar’s Performance module extends the ability to monitor what’s happening with your CPU—including monitoring the global CPU consumption across all cores for all aspects of the OS, audio processing load, and a single meter for SONAR’s total CPU utilization. Quick Group FreezeQuick Group Freeze is now available for Instruments. You can Quick Groups to freeze or thaw multiple tracks at once. Not only that, but with the new metering options, you can see exactly how much difference it makes. Full Screen Toggle ButtonWhen you want the maximum amount of screen “real estate” to see as many elements as possible within SONAR, the new full screen toggle supplements the existing menu option and function key shortcuts with a button that’s suitable for both touch and mouse clicks. Softube Saturation Knob update (Platinum and Professional only)This workhorse ProChannel module, based on Softube’s FET compressor with added saturation, has been updated with stability and compatibility improvements. Brazilian Portuguese Localization (previously Steam-only)You can now use SONAR in Brazilian Portuguese. Command Center Brazilian Portuguese SupportCommand Center has been updated to support installing products in Brazilian Portuguese. Fixes in this update:- Take Management/Comping:
- It was not possible to drag a clip to a different lane in another track if the target track was below the source track.

It appears this last update broke Rapture Pro again. Midi notes drop out and come back in randomly when RPro is inserted as the synth. All other synths I use play all the notes right through. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

Still no fix for the delete hole problem? No Ripple Edit? Just checking before I dedicate hours to an update I'll have to roll back. (Current version: 21.10.00 BUILD 32 Kingston - x64). Thanks in advance. Wally

Load balancing option seems to cause issues with BFD3. Random glitches when load balancing is activated, none when load balancing is off. I believe that I have my MIDI look ahead buffer set at 750ms per normal. Is anyone else having issues with BFD3 when load balancing is active?

while i use another daw 99.9% of the time, i am a platinum owner and lifetime member (and long time cakewalk user/owner) i do check in with sonar usually every or every other release. i done some messing around with the latest release either last weekend or the previous for a few hours and found no issues with using bfd3. my understanding is that load balancing doesn't have any effect or benefit with regards to synths as such, so i guess 'shouldn't' cause any issues with it, then again i guess any system/app change could affect things in ways unseen (i'm no programmer) but no, i have not seen or had any issues in my use of platinum and bfd3

Yeah it was weird because BFD3 would play fine then I would hear like a little chirp :) or strange sound coming from the drum tracks here and there and it was intermittent as to where it would happen. After turning off load balancing it stopped. My machine plays back fine with load balancing off but it would be nice to gain any benefit on the render time.
