Zooming Problems in Piano Roll View

I've got this weird problem where my piano roll magnifying glass zoom stops working if I zoom out too far. In other words, it just sticks there and wont zoom in again. The zoom in the bottom right hand corner of the piano roll view still works though, and that's the only way I can get the magnifying glass zoom working again. It's real easy too accidentally zoom out too far when you're just tying to zoom a little. This behavior is consistent and always reproducible. I made some screen shots to illustrate the problem but I can't seem to attach them to this post.  Using SONAR Latest Version - 2016.09

I can also see that problem if I zoom out beyond the last MIDI note by left-click dragging in the upper part of the PRV time ruler. In my case it must however be by a fair amount, so that all MIDI notes cover less than maybe one third of the PRV window. It's then impossible to zoom back in using left-click drag in the time ruler. It adds to the problem that the zooming out eventually happens very fast, so it's quite easy to experience this lock-up.

Something is wrong for sure, but as far as I can see only the click-drag function seems to be affected. Apart from the magnifying glass icons in the bottom right corner you mentioned, you can optionally lasso zoom, or use Ctrl+Right arrow to zoom back in.

I still wish that you could use Shift+F in the PRV to quickly zoom in all available MIDI notes horizontally, just like you can zoom in all content in the track view.

Edit: Must have been sleeping while writing - now changed vertically to horizontally.

I gues you meant to write horizontally, not vertically. The FR you linked points out the 'Fit MIDI Content' vertically already exists - I have it bound to Ctrl+F in the PRV as it is by default in the Track View. It's Fit Horizontally that's missing.

I usually use Ctrl+Alt+Wheel to zoom horizontally, and it works consistently. There was a problem with a difference in the 'exponential' rates when zooming in vs. zooming out that was fixed in a recent release. Possibly that has some bearing on this problem with the Zoom Tool if it was working before.

In any case, one of you should enter a Problem Report to make sure this is on the radar... er, um, I mean SONAR:

Yes, of course you're right and as you pointed out - I have correctly written "horizontally" in my feature request. As a matter of fact I have personally bound the keyboard shortcut "F" to the "View | Fit MIDI Content" command in the PRV in order to be consistent with the "F" shortcut in the track view, i.e. to fit content vertically. And if there only was a command to do it horizontally in the PRV, I would immediately bind Shift+F to that. Consistency is a good thing.

As for writing a Problem Report, I forward that to the OP. After all, finders keepers.
