aligning Reason loops to Platinum audio

Hi, hoping this is a fairly simple fix or maybe I'm over-complicating things for myself...
I'm working on a song using Cakewalk Platinum and Reason9. Were using Reason mainly to rewire in some separate drum and bass loops. The multiple loops, in wav format, cover various sections of the song. For the drums, Reason inserts each selected loop into a single Reason audio track as various visible clips, automatically lined up.
We've taken the song quite far in Platinum but we'd now like to double the length of the existing guitar solo. This would normally be simple enough in that I'd create a vertical gap down all tracks, whose horizontal size would be the original solo length. Then I'd copy/paste (or re-record e.g. new gtr solo) where needed into the gaps of the other tracks.
The problem I have is that the track material in Platinum does not align to Platinum's time ruler - they align to the drum loops in Reason (Reason's loops don't line up to the individual bars in Platinum).
Is there an accurate way to re-sync Platinum's ruler to the timing of the clips in Reason? Would bouncing the drums of reason into a track in Platinum help achieve this?

- while this works when using a bounced drum track from reason into Sonar, it results in a different project tempo. This then means that Reason is now out of time with Sonar.
I think I now need to see if a similar solution found in Sonar is present in Reason - probably the best way since it would fix the issue at source. But damn! wont a fix here cause timing issues back into Sonar?? my head's getting sore! (sumary - trying to add space into Sonar tracks to extend a gtr solo, with material before and after in this and other tracks)
