Audio Interface Goofiness after Win10 Upgrade...

My MOTU Audio Express has been acting goofy since upgrading to Win10.  It gets stuck on 48K (what I run in SPLAT) and won't play Vids or Music tracks on the web or desktop.  I have to go into the MOTU software audio console and physically change it to 44.1...sometimes two or three times before the change will "stick" and let me play stuff.  Plus I get random pops in the 44.1K audio.  And, when the Audio Express needs to switch sample rates like this I get two or three audible pops before it makes the switch.  This doesn't happen every time...just most times.

I've updated the drivers for the MOTU and made sure my Win10 audio settings are correct.  Anyone have any suggestions or tips??

Try disconnecting the USB and reconnecting.  Sometimes the drivers Services
get stuck and need to be released.

I'm running it with firewire...does that make any difference?

Ol Pal,

Why not simply tell Winders to playback at 48? Then you don't need to force the interface to change...

Because I are so stupid I didn't know I could do such a thing.  Is it painful?

Doesn't hurt to pull it.  That unloads the driver.  Then plug it back in again.
That reloads the drive.  Sometimes they just get "stuck"...

Nope. Just go into Control Panel -> Sound, open the properties for the audio device and there should be a tab where you can set the default audio format. The layout differs depending on the driver, but you should be able to find it.

I had to do this with mine because it doesn't switch reliably more than a few times in a session.
