Between the lead tone and melody I'm getting an oriental vibe from this one... which makes me think of cherry blossoms, falling off the tree. Weird, huh.

Love that lead. There was a band in the 70's called "Angel" that Gregg Giuffria was in. This lead sound was in a song they did and I loved it then. Very mournful and expressive. Good instrumentation all around. Well done!

I agree with Dan, I really liked the lead too. It does creates have that sort of sad feeling to it. Summer is really past and the fall colours are over.

I listened to this as my wake up song. I was feeling kind of depressed at the dismal grey morning, but it felt like a eulogy for the year and *it was good*. :D:D Did you say that was a synclavier? I remember my school (c. 1985) buying a synclavier. It was 10's of thousand of dollars.

Thank you David, yes Arturia's implementation of the Synclavier. The interesting thing about this is they actually got the original programmers/creators in to do/help with the coding.

Great use of sounds to create emotions. I think that your intent (the trepidation of the coming winter and reflection on the summer past) is reflected in your music. When I lived up in the Great White North, the only thing that got me through the winter was the hockey season.

Hey there, Wookster! Excellent job on this beautiful, very classy instrumental with a smooth texture and variety of tasty melodies! The synth choices you used are "timeless" and blend perfectly for the piece, and the mix sounds clean and wide on my system. I agree with Dan about the "Angel" sound on the lead synth, (I can't remember the name of the song though), weird coincidence, my band manager during the 80's actually managed them in the 70's! Very nice Wookie! I liked the lead sound, but I also liked the "drony" (is that a word? probably not  ) chords of the backing track. Reminded me of a house sitting high on an outcrop overlooking the sea, maybe the Irish coast, as summer ends and the autumn/winter winds begin. Or maybe it's my melancholy nature  In any event, I really liked it!
