First CD work

Hi All, I've finished my 1st full CD mix/master for a group of very good friends. I love their tunes and style. Rather than post every full song, I thought I'd put a minute or so of each. I hope to get some reactions to stuff like overall eq, blend, etc, and if ya like the tunes! I am making some final tweaks, but for all intents, it's bagged. SPLAT was very solid for me. I used UAD/Slate plugs mostly. I did a LOT of drum enhance/replacement, added string sections, played piano/organ, and helped a bit with arrangements. Super fun project. 14 minute, 256K .mp3 mastered to about -10 for your listening level setting. Thanks for your listening time and thoughts - Shep
1 reply. Oh well. Removed for lack of participation.

really like the tunes.  Something that's stands out like a sore thumb is that the lead vox is monotone, he sings without dynamics.  Frankly, after the third song it really started to bug me.  There were some glaring resonances that poked out in the LM on the chorus of the second and third song.  Not sure if it's just my speakers though.  They were pretty obvious so I'm guessing it might just be my crappy speakers.

Hey JShep, I popped in to listen to find that you removed your music link in the post due to "lack of participation".  I see that you haven't participated much in the song forum -- perhaps if you had reviewed a few music posts by others they in turn would return the 'favor'.  Sadly, you also would need to join the on-going self-bumping wars by responding to eph221's post which would then move your post up the line. Just offering you a couple of ideas as to why 'no participation' for your future reference.  I'm not fishing for your review of my stuff -- just tryin' to be helpful.

It was gone before I had a chance to hear it. You're lucky to get 1 comment for every 20 views. Be patient!
