Is there a mouse-home command that quickly locate mouse pointer in multi screens setup ?
I'm currently running 3 monitors. Left (27") center (39") right (27"). Sometimes I only operate a single center monitor with the others turned off. I've no problem locating the mouse pointer previously by using a mouse - just move the mouse quickly till the pointer appears. Recently I'm using a wireless keyboard with a built in finger pad that I've eliminated the use of a mouse completely - this is good as I move around a bit and need not worry about the mouse being dropped - for example, I can place the keyboard on a music stand. However, moving the pointer with the pad is much slower than a mouse. It's not a problem when all monitors are on. It's only when I'm operating on a single center monitor and when the pointer is not on the main screen - using the finger pad to find the pointer can slow down a bit. A command to instantly place the pointer on the center or elsewhere of the main active screen would be very useful... is there one that you know of ?

Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click on the Mouse icon.

If you are managing your monitors using Display Fusion (awsome app at www.binaryfortress.com ) it has a setting to center cursor in main display, you just have to define the hot key. Similar utilities may have it too (UltraMon does).

Thanks Steven. The show pointer location is very important to all multi screen users ! :) Shall try out the other scripts to center the mouse on the primary display. Seems a common issue on multi screen usage too.

I just wiggle mine. Or slide it all the way down & to the far left.

Yup :) ..but at times I turn off my 2 side monitors (center monitor is my main) and the mouse can be at the side. Moving the mouse with the finger pad is slow too. Yes, moving the mouse way down is the way to go - as I've just found out, if you move the mouse to the top - there will be a little stop point when crossing monitors and I think this is where initially where I loss my mouse (when the side monitors are off).

The Mouse property key function is cool but will not help if a monitor is off, me thinks. Except for the center on screen thingy.
But then mine stay on and only go off when I shut down the computer.

I move the mouse in large circles until I see the pointer fly by in one of the monitors.

Here is an Autohotkey command to position the cursor on the main monitor. DllCall("SetCursorPos", int, 100, int, 400) If you are not familiar with Autohotkey and want a program created for a specific hot key give me the keystrokes and I will compile a script for you

Thanks, scook. I'll be reading up more on Autohotkey. Meanwhile, I'm running this power shell script (copied else where) which seems to work - just not instantly. The hotkey runs a Windows shortcut file (must be in the desktop) with the following properties :- target : %systemroot%\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -File "C:\My Scripts\CenterMouse.ps1" start in : %windir%\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0 short cut key : Ctrl + Alt + M (can be any letter) ---- [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("System.Drawing") | out-null [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("System.Windows.Forms") | out-null $bounds = [System.Windows.Forms.Screen]::PrimaryScreen.Bounds $center = $bounds.Location $center.X += $bounds.Width / 2 $center.Y += $bounds.Height / 2 [System.Windows.Forms.Cursor]::Position = $center ---
