Cant Post or Reply in Internet Explorer?
Good Day, I cant seem to post or reply in Forums, using Internet Explorer, doesn't allow me to enter text, but I can in Google Chrome (as I am here), anyone know why this may be? Don't believe I've changed any settings? (Albeit, I think Im liking Google Chrome better).

If you have any kind of script blockers running in IE (haven't used it in YEARS so don't know what it allows these days) then you need to "allow/whitelist" the main cakewalk.com domain as well as the ajax.googleapis.com domain Otherwise none of the scripts that the forum uses can load and commenting/PM functions will not work. It used to be you only needed to allow the main cakewalk domain but after the big update a couple years back they snuck in that google thingie... I'm assuming because the updated forum software required it... which is annoying when it worked before without it. meh... PS: IE sux

PPS: If the reason you are trying to use IE is because that's what your work computer forces you to use then it's quite possible your network admin at work has either of those domains blocked. If so then you can ask them to check out the site to make sure it's safe to allow on the network (should be) and make an exception. You may want to bribe them with some beer or even better some scotch.

Heh. Yeah, IW works too but tech nerds tend to be whiskey nerds too so a generic, big name IW from the LC may backfire (think hipsterism applied to whiskey). lol... Either way switching browsers is a better way to go. I will however recommend that if you are going to make the switch (considering our entire online lives are framed by our browsers so it's a program you'll be spending a LOT of time with) that you check out some of the other browsers out there as well. I personally use Firefox which is great for me but at this point it's really just out of being familiar with it. My second choice (but if I wasn't so entrenched with Firefox it might be my first) is Opera. It is and always has been a very nice browser and I think in many ways has been the browser the big guys copied in the early years and likely continue copying. Been think of switching back myself. There are others but you are already checking out Chrome (which is good but I avoid because google gets a little too creepy/stalky for my tastes so I don't want to use their browser and encourage them) and those other two are likely the best alternatives. Also one thing you may or may not be aware of is that when/if you set up your Windows ineternet security settings/policies in Win7 (and likely XP but I think it's different in 10) that, from what I can tell, only affects IE. So it's worth pointing out that if you went through the Windows Control Panel to increase your internet security settings that those settings (AFAIK) won't apply to anything other than IE. My point is whatever browser you are testing/settle on don't rely on those Windows Control Panel security settings. Go into the security settings of the actual browser and set them up based on what you want. Just some extra ramblings. /derp

Even Microsoft doesn't like Internet Explorer, they gave up on it and introduced Edge. A lot of sites will tell you that you need an updated browser if you try to log in with IE.

Luckily for the OP, Edge doesn't work with Win7. Edge may be the worst browser Microsoft has ever released. Like all things Microsoft, it will be version 3 before it's usable. On the other hand, IE 11 is fine, and should do the trick, although the switch-to-Chrome solution is even better.

Thanks all for input, Ill check those security settings in Chrome, and some of the other browsers mentioned, I can understand concerns with Google, and wanting to know where you are physically and virtually 24/7, like a jealous lover, I guess some may find that flattering, LOL. I know some sites now don't allow a full screen view in IE, but work in Chrome at least, as for IE 11 it seemed to be working OK on forum till the other day, and I didn't change anything myself in Tools menu, Im thinking now before I ran last Win7 update, (I always do these manually), and some "monthly rollout" thing not usually there, think that caused me some issues last month also, maybe Ill do a restore just to see if that's it, and if so hopefully remember next month, not to select that update. Cheers.

Chrome here for a long time now. I also still like Firefox but it has now become a bit outdated. I'm on IE right now at work ( coffee break ) and certain features are missing. Example your posting here and want to insert a picture, IE does not have the dropdown with the "copy link address" so you have to copy it from the browser bar and this often does not seem to work. For me the best feature of Chrome ( Google) is all my favourites follow me to all my computers. I can bookmark a page and then it will be shared with all my machines. My log ins etc. This is ideal for me as I use at least 3 computers all the time in different parts of the house. My iPhone also shares these same bookmarks and address books etc. It does collect all your browsing data as well, I don't mind that but I can see some people wishing otherwise.. I'm pretty sure you can set it to delete all history on closing. You get used to all the advertising lurking in the sidebars seem to follow your shopping inquiries. Right now they show a lot of Power amps!! Good thing I don't shop for inflatable partners.
