Removing space on multiple tracks...
Your Sonar dummy asking stupid questions again. Already read through the link:
https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X2&language=3&help=EditingMIDI.33.htmlIt all makes sense to me and I am not at my PC right now. I have an 8 beat hihat hits that I used as the pre-song metronome. I have 35 tracks - some of them I have already deleted sections of audio from tracks for various reasons - (guitar string hit, mic stand tapped, etc) and some of those tracks have instruments that begin the song.
So, if I click on the time ruler and highlight the area I want deleted (the 8 beats the hihat starts), then highlight all the tracks, then
Edit > Delete then Delete Special then click Events in Track and Delete Hole will that move all my tracks to the left and eliminate the space at the beginning?
The Cakewalk instructions give options if there is no data or if there is data in the tracks - I have both - some tracks with data and some tracks without data. I wasn't sure and thought someone else has to have a similar scenario happen to them and know what to do.
The song starts with clean guitars, then a minute or so into the song the distorted guitars come in. During production, I recorded the clean guitars from the beginning. For the distorted guitars, I hit record about 8 beats before they come in - so on the distorted guitar tracks I recorded them kind of like a punch in. I did not start at the beginning of the song, hit record and wait to turn up the distorted guitar only on their parts. Make sense?
Also, if I am able to delete that space at the beginning will the volume automation envelopes I created move as well?
(Note to self - in the future, I will just use the metronome for 4 beats at the beginning) Ha!
