I would troubleshoot it by dragging the audio to a new track.
if that works it means your routing / or a plug in is blocking the path.
(or a mute button)

Hi. Maybe it is muted? Have you tried to left click on the clip, and press "K"?
All the best.

you tried dragging the audio to a new track (you created a new track) and you don't hear anything ?
do you have any plug ins on that track ?

Open up the Take Lanes for that track and make sure none of them is muted.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

but wouldn't dragging the audio to a newly created audio track take care of that ?
he said he tried this but it didn't work.

Good idea though. I didn't even think of this and deff worth checking.

Can you locate the clip in the audio folder? If so, does the preview sound OK?

FWIW plug-ins are one of the major causes of issues. It's a good idea when troubleshooting to see if the problem is unique to something involving a particular plug-in.
