[Solved] quick reminder please?

Dragging a portion of an audio track to a new track but keeping it at the exact same time mark? You drag with the mouse and hold which key? (ctrl+ mouse does not seem to work?)

Should be the SHIFT key.

In my experience, this does not always work correctly. Sometimes I have undo and try a time or two to get it to maintain position. Other times it works fine. Quirky.

the worst thing in my opinion is dragging a clip (while holding Shift) to restrain it to the same track...
then it jumps/scrolls about 20 tracks.

You have to be really careful not to move the clip when you click. This seems to happen more often with trackballs than mice. If snap is on and the clip is on a snap boundary, you won't experience this issue.
