Locking midi notes in Sonar Pro 8.5

Hi,

I am having a brain malfunction here and i cant remember the settings to increase or decrease in order to cut down on locking midi notes during live performances.  It happens far too much and i believe that a recent re-install is the culprit because i didn't use to have them before.  I guess when i re-installed the software, my settings were initialized.  I would appreciate any assitance on how to prevent these lockups.

Thank you 8)

Let me try asking  this another way :)
If i am experiencing locking midi notes that require the 'panic' button to get out of, should i increase or decrease my midi buffer size?  This is a very aggravating thing to have happen in the middle of a live performance.

    Thanks

Oh, I think you mean a stuck midi note.. Boy that takes me back to 1985 :) I had a footswitch for "panic"

So yes increase your midi buffer,, I have mine at 1,200.
Is this your outboard gear with stuck notes or is this VST instruments?

Make sure you don't have any consecutive notes overlapping or even "butt" right up next to each other.

If you do, slip edit the right hand edge back by just a couple of ticks to open up a small gap.

This has always worked for me going back as far as SONAR 6PE

thanks folks!  It is mainly when i am playing the synth that also has midi information being received on the same channel.  It doesn't seem to matter if it's VST or hardware.  fortunately there are not many cases where i need to do this so i am in the process of rearranging things.  I upped my buffer size too in hopes that that will help.  I appreciate your responses on this.
