Question for Lush 101 users

New to me synth...but I'm able to navigate quite easily, going back to the ARP days as my first synths.  However I'm not a MIDI wiz and can typically edit and do basic functions, set controllers, and then I'm to my limit.

My issue with the LUSH 101 is no matter what velocity levels I set in the piano roll...all notes are playing back like an organ.  Even if I input my MIDI with a MIDI keyboard.  Velocity if anything is only changing the "dynamics" of the patch  (by hitting harder)....not the volumes.
I can edit the piano roll in all other aspects and with LUSH set up as a simple instr track plays back fine and responds to any edit changes...except volume.

What am I missing?

btw...any other synth will change volumes as I change the velocities in the piano roll....just not LUSH
(and as an off topic....  LUSH seems to make Sonar boot up weird sometimes...but I'll rant in another thread)

no to D16 and a older Roland XP80
Great synth...but some quirks for sure.

I'm not at my DAW and don't have the doc in front of me, but I can tell you in general what you're neglecting.  You need to go to the modulation tab and specify velocity as the source and amp envelope depth (if I recall correctly) as the target.

Just find a preset that has velocity mapped to note loudness and see how it's done there.  It's really quite simple.

thx Dmbaer.... seems to be working as outlined by your suggestion.  Some patches for whatever reasons, seem to respond much better than others and using the portamento seems to affect it as well.  As I use this synth more, hopefully I'll further my MIDI abilities.  I just kinda assumed that using the matrix tab wasn't needed, (like most VSTi)  but I see that it gives you much more control.  I didn't really find many presets that had the velocity targeted to volume as I scrolled thru them looking for some.  But it was an education to see how involved some of the matrix settings were.
    thx again.

Just audition the presets - look for keyboard-type sounds in particular.  Once you've found one (and there really should be quite a few), just examine the modulation to see what was done and use that as a model.  Also, it goes without saying, read the documentation, which is pretty clear if I recall correctly.
