Beginner Sonar Artist

The video by A.M.P is very good.  He doesn't appear to have the follow up videos on his channel yet as I'd like to understand the mixing and mastering process once he's got everything down.  There are some really useful tips on the first video.  I've really enjoyed using Sonar Artist so far it's a very user friendly DAW.

Good start! And props on picking SONAR. I have licenses for more DAWs than I'd like to admit, but SONAR is home. And this forum is also better than the forums of the other DAWs I own.

SONAR Platinum looks expensive, but...
 
Until the end of the year, I believe, you get lifetime updates with a purchase. Good time of year to check for deals!
 
The reason I said "looks expensive" is its upfront cost. But SPlat (as most of us non-Bakers call SONAR Platinum) has very high end tools, both legacy and new, that are really very good. If you can avoid dreaded G.A.S. attacks (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), something I and many members of this forum suffer regularly, that'll be all the money you'll need to spend for, well, I would saw "a long time", but more realistically, it'll last you until you're accomplished enough with SPlat to start getting GAS attacks. Ha!

If you like his work, subscribe to his channel. He's already got a bunch of videos using SPlat already uploaded.
 

Yeah, Andrew's videos are very good.

+1 for Groove3  Their Sonar specific library is a bit limited and some of the Cakewalk stuff is a bit dated, but their general videos on Compression, EQ and Reverb as well as specific Plugins (like Izotope's Ozone) are very well covered.
