Drum kits for Sonar 8 Studio Please?

Hi
Noob posting
I'm not sure if this the correct forum, but I have Session Drummer 2 in my Sonar 8 Studio version and the kits are very basic. Can I download Session Drummer 3 from somewhere please?
If not, can I download any from another site please?
How would I make sure they show up in Session Drummer's kit folder please?
If I am stuck with what I have now, I can live with the drums, but I can only find open and closed hats - how can I get that "tssssstttt" open/close sizzle sound please?
Thanks very much
Phil

Most drum VSTi's don't seem to have those. I create my own from the open & close samples and assign them to a key in an SFZ file or insert them into their own track.

    Hi
That's quite amazing that they wouldn't provide one of those samples when they sample every kind of  African thing that  you can hit with a stick!
When you say "assign them to a key" do you mean on a MIDI controller or on a computer keyboard please?
I listened again to the hats and I can't figure out how you can smush em together into a nice crisp tssssttttt sound. Could you provide me with a sample that I can use please?
    Thanks

    Sorry for the delayed response.

The sound I think you're after is a hihat open/close created by the pedal. For drum softsynths like Session Drummer there is no ONE sound for this. You have to use an open hat and a pedal hat together to create the effect. If there's no pedal hat sound use a closed hat.

    1. Place the open hat MIDI note where you want the sound to start
    2. Place the pedal or closed hat MIDI note where you want the sound to end

Easily done in the Piano Roll View.
