Has quantize or groove quantize EVER worked for anyone?

Posted this elsewhere but got to wondering...does the quantize feature ever give you the results you're looking for ? Not one time, in years and years of use through multiple versions has this potentially cool feature ever worked out. Something was always not quite right or drastically wrong , and that's after many experiments and setting changes. Mostly for drums but other stuff too. A great idea, just never worked for me.

Are you referring to quantizing Audio or MIDI?  I've quantized MIDI and it's always done exactly what was asked.
I've never tried to quantize Audio.

Both have always worked as expected for me with the sole exception of the 'Scale Time' option in Groove Quantize, which is effectively no different from 'Move to Nearest'. But you have to understand what you're quantizing and where it needs to go. Basically, anything that's more the half the quantize resolution away from where it should be is going to get quantized in the wrong direction and get worse rather than better.

If you can share an example of something that isn't quantizing as expected, I'd be happy to look at it. PM me for an e-mail address if you want to take it off line.
