PCIe extension

Hi all,
 
I was thinking of getting a UAD PCIe thingamajig.
But, I'm not sure about future useability in that I might not have PCIe slots in my next box.
 
I was wondering if there are available PCIe to USB/thunderbolt extension doohickeys that I could use??

    Don't know if it would work with UAD cards and don't have one myself, but there's this:
