P5 V2 Direction

I read the pdf file about the release. It says that Cakewalk Project 5 is suppose to be a Quik Music Making tool. I dont think I like the sound of that. I take my time and try to make quality work with Project 5 or any type of sequencing program. Why would I want to finish projects quickly when quik means less quality when it comes to making music. Are they trying to say that P5 is a less serious program for making quality music...to bump up Sonar's credibility? I dont get it.

with Sonar 4, Cakewalk has taken a serious look at improving workflow, hence the new credo of 'Let Go and Flow' (Mikey's original comments on that notwithstanding). I very much expect P5 v2 will follow that same concentration.

so my take on a quick Music Making tool would mean the tools don't get in the way of getting the ideas into tracks/projects, but keep up with the speed of inspiration and creation

i like to work fast, but carefully, and P5 has proved to be the most suitable host for me.
so i think you can work as fast as you like
as well as, as carefully as you like

Cakewalk isn't foolish enough to come out with a big step in the product and drop the quality
    nobody much does that
and the fact that rene / rg audio is on board with a new synth
    it shouldn't be a concern

Naw, they're just trying to appeal to the DJ/remixer market. Unless P5 v2 is a *less powerful* tool than v1.5 there's no way it's not serious, because 1.5 is definitely serious.

And more in response to all the 'is it going to be better than Live/Reason/FLStudio' talk than to you Moog...

It has limitations, but what doesn't? It has a different set of strengths and weaknesses than Live, or Reason, or whatever, because it's a different program made by a different company. Some people are more comfortable with Reasons' limitations than P5's. Or Live's. And the other way around.

My advice to anyone looking into soft synth studios is, they all have demos. Try them all out, compare them in terms of the way you work, the way you want to work, and the sound you can get from them, and then make a call. At these prices most people who are serious about doing something creative should be able to afford a couple of them (I went with Sonar/P5 combo, being a shameless Cakewalk cheerleader), in comparison to traditional studio/equipment cost, anyway.

Find the solution that works best for you! :-)

    JMHO :-)

Fair enough. But to tell you the truth...and this might be getting into consumer psychology, if i was the Consumer, and serious about making music, yet new to Cakewalk Projet 5 and I saw those ad lines....id question P5 as means of serious audio production. I dont feel that way rite now after using it...but as someone new looking in I most definately would question a product that sells "speed of use". Maybe a simple change to EASE of use would erase those doubts. Cakewalk should hire me for marketing ideas? ; )
