I recognize that there are many efficient ways to change the sonar layout. I'm just appreciating desktops as a new way to achieve efficiency. I'm confused by John's suggestion to regard them as concurrent computers. The audio clearly routes around like it it's one computer. For recording purposes, I wouldn't want to increase my dropout risk, but so far, I have had no problems with it.
Fwiw, I stopped using screensets because I got periodic dropouts. Using key strokes and the mouse to make changes was always much lower risk. And frankly, the screensets changes are applied slowly.
In the past, I've definitely had to do a lot of clicking to move between sonar and all the other audio programs I run at the same time. This should make me much more efficient.

I make some videos.
This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
